Spa Day as Meditation Practice

Picked up a great little book at the library recently called Meditations for Living in Balance: Daily Solutions for People Who Do Too Much by Anne Wilson Schaef.

It contains a short meditation for each day of the year, but since you can only renew a library book for so many weeks, I've been opening to pages at random to read, rather than following the calendar.

Today's topic struck me because it so fits my philosophy about spa days and how they can nurture the soul and sums up one of many reasons I promote Arbonne's botanically based skin care products at Infuse.

The body is a sacred garment. - Martha Graham

There are times when we simply need to care for our bodies. We need to learn to act before they are screaming for attention; we should do some routine maintenance care as we go along. It makes it possible to stay in them as we move through life, even when the going gets rough.

She then goes on to suggest an in-home spa treatment to help "let go of old, worn-out, useless parts of ourselves."

How to do an in-home spa treatment? Get a yummy natural sea salt or sugar scrub and take a long shower, or soak in a bath with dead sea salts and follow up with a remineralizing body lotion, or mix your favorite essential oil with an unscented massage oil and do some aromatherapy self-massage on your feet, neck and temples.

There are so many ways to treat your body and your skin. You can learn more at our complimentary New Year, New You party at Infuse Friday January 22nd from 6-8pm. Can't make it that night? Book your own! Grab 3-5 friends and schedule a date at Infuse. Get a customized treatment to meet your needs and sample some luxurious products.
